Conversion of energy from any kind of fuel, be it fossil or renewable bio-based; solid, fluid or gaseous, has to be handled under not only technical and economic conditions, but also under increasingly dominant environmental constraints.
All these conditions are influential in governing development and use of internal combustion engines used for propulsion of ships, and onshore usages, or for production of electric power.
The Collin Trust was established in the 1990’s, originally in the UK. It’s origin and purpose is the handling of a financial non-profit donation made by the Swedish late Prof. Lars Th. Collin (1925 – 2013), Gothenburg. The Trust is selecting, organizing and sponsoring the Collin Trust Lectures, to advance the education of the concerned public. This lecture to be delivered by a selected senior industrialist, or any person that has an international reputation on contemporary environmental issues. To present his/her own view, or an Organizations view, on important developments in the field of the use of energy or conversions, and/or related matters.
The Trust has found the Intl. CIMAC World Congresses to be a proper forum for these lectures, and they have been a permanent feature of each Congress, since the trust was established.
